Compared to other one component or two component systems, including epoxy/asphalt and acrylic/urethane, water proof membrane formulations based on the Mallard Creek Polymers line offer a broad range of benefits. These membranes cure to a tough, flexible film that does not soften at high temperatures or become brittle at low temperatures. Cured films exhibit high water resistance and low moisture vapor permeability, making them highly effective barriers. The films also have excellent crack bridging properties which allow for use in a wider range of applications compared to two component systems.
BarrierPro 4555 is a styrene-butadiene emulsion polymer of low stiffness. It dries to form a soft but tough film. Its softness makes it excellent for water proofing where films must remain flexible at below-freezing temperatures.
