Charlotte, NC, April 21, 2017 –Mallard Creek Polymers (MCP) has continued to increase its participation in the Paper and Nonwovens Industries.  PaperCon 2017 (information can be found at www.papercon.org) provides MCP with the opportunity to describe the many ways the company is involved in the paper industry.  The company is the leading provider of styrene-butadiene latex for barrier coatings, namely low MVTR and excellent Cobb resistance with Tykote®1004, Tykote®1005, and Tykote®1019.  MCP has continued to advance the product portfolio for oil and grease resistant barrier coatings.  New acrylic polymer emulsions like Tykote®6160 have been launched to provide improvements on styrene acrylic emulsion polymers. 

Effective April 1, 2017 or as contracts allow, Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. will increase prices for BarrierPro®, Rovene®, Tychem®, Tylac® and Tykote® styrene butadiene latex, styrene acrylic copolymers, acrylic polymer emulsions, and resin supported products for all customers in all markets by 3 cents per wet pound.

Effective March 1, 2017 or as contracts allow, Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. will increase prices for Rovene® and Tykote® styrene acrylic latex, acrylic polymer emulsions, and resin supported products for all customers in all markets by up to 7 cents per wet pound. 

Effective February 1, 2017, Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. will increase prices for Rovene®, BarrierPro®, and Tylac® styrene-butadiene products for all customers in the carpet, textile, construction, and related markets by 10 cents per dry pound (approximately 5 cents per wet lb).   This increase will apply to all pricing as contracts allow.  

Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. (MCP) continues to introduce valuable coating and binder technology for the construction industry by developing new acrylic polymer emulsions and styrene acrylics. The new acrylic polymers are developed to supplement the extensive portfolio of styrene-butadiene latexes the company offers to many building and construction applications. Rovene^® 6521 is the latest product that is designed as a multipurpose acrylic grade that can be used in thick film paints or membranes, has cement compatibility to allow adequate open time, and is plasticizer-free. MCP had previously introduced Tylac^® 4193, a styrene-butadiene copolymer with very similar performance.  The SBR provides improved adhesion while the acrylic latex has improved UV stability. The open time and workability are essentially equivalent.
