Charlotte, NC, September 7, 2015–Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. (MCP) continues to develop an extensive product line of Acrylic Polymer Emulsions to meet market demands across synthetic emulsion polymer applications. Specifically, Printing and Packaging companies continue to look for water-based barrier products that can be applied via roll coating, flexography, and gravure to paper, board, and films. MCP has commercialized Tykote® 6160 for food packaging applications where outstanding oil and grease barrier and good press runnability are required. This new product demonstrates MCP's drive to continue to build a broad Tykote and Rovene product line to serve packaging coating and ink suppliers.
Tykote® 6160 is the first acrylic product developed specifically to provide barrier to oil and grease products. This grade complements the extensive Tykote styrene-butadiene emulsion polymers that provide superior MVTR, and styrene-acrylic emulsions that balance MVTR and OGR. Additionally,Rovene® 4119 and Tykote SBR products demonstrate very low Cobb results. The extensive Tykote barrier product line, Rovene paper coating products, and the Rovene graphic arts products give MCP personnel many options to provide solutions to current and potential customers. Details on these products and others can be obtained from the Technical Data Sheets, in the Printing and Packaging Product Selection Guide. Starting point formulations are also available for many barrier and coating applications For more information, visit the company's website at www.mcpolymers.com or by call 1-877-240-0171.
